What do you like about advising?
I enjoy the conversation with undergraduate students, and it always brings me back to the wonderful times I experienced before. The passion and energy that students passed on to me motivate my job.
What do you like about working with engineering students?
Engineering students are intelligent and creative; I have seen many UM Engineering students participate in world-class projects. It’s an honor to work with the future of the world.
What was your major in college, and why?
I majored in Arabic Language and Literature when I was an undergraduate. Because I want to explore other countries and their cultures, Arabic countries seem to be one of the most mysterious ones in the world. I’m currently pursuing my Higher Education master’s degree at UM, which was motivated by my college teacher, who told me the meaning and importance of Education.
What is your best piece of advice for first-year students?
It is just the beginning of college life, do whatever you want, and enjoy the short college time.
What is the best-kept secret at the University of Michigan?
Ann Arbor is just a small town. Try to explore upper Michigan. Beautiful Nature will relieve your stress.
What do you spend time on the outside of your work?
I enjoy watching all kinds of movies. You can find me at the state theater whenever a film comes out. I also like to try different types of restaurants. Dearborn has the most delicious Arabic restaurant in the US called Al-Ameer.
