What do you like about advising?
I've always enjoyed working with people but I especially love working with college students.  Being an advisor gives me the opportunity to meet with and work with college students every day. I love watching students grow and develop.  It's a great feeling watching them find success and reaching their personal and professional goals.   

What do you like about working with engineering students?
Michigan engineering students are bright, creative, and hard-working individuals who have an opportunity to change the world.  Just being able to get to know them and be a part of their journey is just an amazing experience.

What was your major in college, and why?
I graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin (GO BADGERS!) because chemistry is cool!  I also earned my Master's degree in college counseling from Eastern Michigan University.  I have a passion working with people and helping them find their own success.

What is your best piece of advice for first year students?
ASK FOR HELP!  UM and the College of Engineering have so many resources for students to utilize.  Don't be shy.  Oh, and get involved!  

What is the best kept secret in the College of Engineering?
The many resources!  There's something for everyone, you just have to look or ask!  

What do you spend time on outside of your work?
I am an absolute foodie and love to cook.  I also enjoy spending time with my son.  We love going to the football games in the Fall, Greenfield Village in the summers, and visiting Mackinac Island every year.
