The Engineering Advising Center (EAC) provides academic services and support for first year and undeclared students. Services include academic advising, personal counseling, career exploration, goal setting, and workshops to facilitate student success. The professional staff and peer advisors work together in a collaborative team to help students develop a course of study that enables them to achieve their academic and personal goals. Students are provided with support and encouragement in exploring their options and learning to make informed decisions.  We’re here to help you get off to a strong start and to make the most of your first year at Michigan.

Scheduled Appointments

Scheduled appointments are ideal for developing long-term plans, selecting courses for future terms, planning for a major path, and determining how to get involved in the college and at the university.

Spring/Summer advising appointments are by request. Please email eac.advising@umich.edu or your assigned advisor to request an appointment.

Virtual Drop-In Advising

Virtual drop-in advising with staff and peer advisors is hosted on Zoom and serves as the online equivalent of walk-in advising. These drop-ins are for quick questions or urgent issues for CoE undeclared students only.

Hours for Fall 23/Winter 24 will be posted at the end of August 2023.
