What do you like about advising?
I love working with students on establishing meaningful connections between who they are (background, beliefs, values, interests) and their academic and co-curricular pursuits. Students making such connections can set the foundation for a fulfilling undergraduate experience.

What do you like about working with engineering students?
Although I am new to the CoE (I’m coming from advising in LSA), I’m looking forward to working with students who will design and build a more equitable and socially conscious future.

What was your major in college, and why?
I love languages and culture. I majored in French and minored in Afroamerican and African Studies. My original intent was to become a French teacher, exploring the history of France’s colonization through a critical lens.

What is your best piece of advice for first year students?
Explore and pay close attention to what brings you joy and fulfillment in and outside the classroom.

What is the best kept secret in the College of Engineering?
I’m looking forward to answering this after more time in the CoE!

What do you spend time on outside of your work?
I love all things running! When I’m not running, I’m usually playing platformers or Metroidvania-style video games, completing crossword puzzles, listening to paranormal podcasts, or ordering takeout immediately after buying groceries, with my partner, Stephanie.
